What does Tack Tools Pro do?
Tack Tools Pro connects to your Thumbtack account and automates your lead response. The moment a new lead comes in, our 3-point touch system fires automatically — Live Connect, Rapid Reply on Thumbtack, and a Tack Voicemail for the prospect — all within 27 seconds.
How fast will I be notified of a new lead?
You're notified within seconds of a new lead arriving on Thumbtack. Most pros using Tack Tools Pro reach customers in under 27 seconds — before competitors even open the app.
Do I need my own phone system?
No. Tack Tools Pro handles all telephony infrastructure for you. You just provide your phone number (where you want to receive the Live Connect) and your business caller ID number. We take care of the rest.
What is a Tack Voicemail?
A Tack Voicemail delivers a pre-recorded message directly to the customer's voicemail without ringing their phone. It's the third point in our 3-point touch system — after Live Connect and Rapid Reply — designed to warm the customer and keep you top of mind. They see a new voicemail from you before any other pro has reached out, making it far more likely they call you back.
Why didn't my voicemail get delivered to some customers?
Voicemail delivery depends on several factors outside our control. Numbers registered on the National Do Not Call (DNC) list, state DNC lists, or flagged by carrier-level spam filters will be blocked automatically — this is required by law. Additionally, some mobile carriers and voicemail systems don't support this delivery method. In our experience, roughly 75% of voicemails are successfully delivered. You'll never be charged for voicemails that don't go through.
What is the Rapid Reply?
When a new lead arrives, Tack Tools Pro automatically sends a professional Rapid Reply on Thumbtack on your behalf. This lets the customer know you're responsive and interested — most pros see higher close rates just from being the first to reply.
How much does Tack Tools Pro cost?
Tack Tools Pro is $79/month or $66.58/mo billed annually ($799/year — pay for 10 months, get 12). Both plans come with a 7-day free trial and full access to everything — Live Connect, Rapid Replies, Tack Voicemails, the lead dashboard, and in-app notifications. No per-lead fees, no add-ons, no surprises. Beta members lock in this pricing before the price increases at launch.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account gets a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. If it's not for you, just cancel before the trial ends.
How do I connect my Thumbtack account?
After signing up, the onboarding wizard walks you through connecting your Thumbtack account via a secure, official integration. The whole setup takes about 2 minutes.
Can I use Tack Tools Pro with multiple Thumbtack businesses?
The current Pro plan supports one Thumbtack business. Multi-business support is on our roadmap for the Platinum plan.
What happens if I miss the Live Connect?
If you don't answer the Live Connect, the customer still receives the Rapid Reply on Thumbtack and the Tack Voicemail. You'll also see the lead in your Tack Tools Pro dashboard with full details so you can follow up manually.
Why does my response time on Thumbtack look different from what Tack Tools Pro shows?
Your Tack Tools Pro dashboard shows how fast our system processes and responds to a lead — typically under 5 seconds. Thumbtack's response time includes their own internal processing before the lead reaches us and after we send the reply back. That extra time is within Thumbtack's systems and outside of our control. Even so, you'll still show up as one of the fastest responders on the platform.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All Thumbtack connection tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. We never store your Thumbtack password. Your data is isolated per account with row-level security, and all communication between our systems is encrypted in transit.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. There are no contracts or cancellation fees.
